Functional Food

A Philosophy Rooted in Nutrition

Functional foods are part of the everyday diet, yet offer nutritional value beyond their basic role as food. Extra virgin olive oil is one of the most extensively researched examples.

Thousands of studies have examined its place within Mediterranean dietary patterns and its relationship with cardiovascular health, cognitive function, metabolic wellbeing, inflammation and healthy ageing.

One landmark example is the PREDIMED randomised trial. Among people at high cardiovascular risk, those assigned to a Mediterranean diet supplemented with extra virgin olive oil had a 31% lower relative risk of major cardiovascular events compared with those assigned to the control diet.

The finding relates to a complete Mediterranean dietary pattern supplemented with extra virgin olive oil—not to olive oil acting as a medicine or producing the same outcome on its own.

This is the philosophy behind OLIVRX: not a medicine or nutritional supplement, but a structured daily method built around premium extra virgin olive oil—designed to make its consumption simple, measured and consistent.
